As a dad of three and a self-proclaimed IT manager, I’ve dived headfirst into the world of smart home gadgets. I mean, who doesn't love the idea of controlling lights and appliances with just your voice? But boy, do they come with their fair share of headaches!
Just last week, I spent a solid hour trying to get my smart thermostat to sync with my phone. You’d think it was designed to do a simple task, but it felt like I was trying to launch a rocket to Mars! My kids were rolling their eyes, accusing me of having “ancient tech” while they were busy scrolling TikTok on their phones. I guess to them, anything that doesn’t fit in a pocket is basically a dinosaur.
And if I can relate it back to my lawn care struggles—why can't my smart sprinkler system just understand when it’s going to rain? I mean, I have to manage my lawn like it’s a high-stakes job, but my tech struggles to get it right!
