A new product by MojoRisin is available: The Streak v1.0.0 - The daily hit-streak game for your forum, played against DiMaggio's 56.
Streak is the simplest game in the family and the hardest to walk away from. Every MLB night, each member picks exactly one hitter from that night's real slate. If he gets a hit, the streak climbs. If he takes an official at-bat and goes hitless, the streak dies to zero. No at-bats, no harm — the streak holds. Skip a night entirely and it holds too. That's the whole game, and it owns people for an entire summer.
The target is the most untouchable record in sports: Joe DiMaggio's 56-game hitting streak. The page leads with the member's streak in giant numbers and a progress bar chasing 56, next to their personal best, the forum record, and how many streaks are alive tonight. The pick list surfaces the hottest bats by recent form — hit in 7 of his last 10 — with the opposing probable starter and first pitch time on every row, and one click reaches everyone playing that night. Picks can be changed right up until that player's game starts.
The sidebar is where the rivalry lives: a longest-alive leaderboard with gold, silver, and bronze medals and your own row highlighted, plus a personal run chart — green bars climbing night by night, a red bar where a streak died, gray where a night was skipped. Watching a forum-mate's 30-game run is almost as tense as riding your own.
Everything runs itself: picks settle automatically as games go final, hitter form reprices daily off each player's last ten games (short pinch-hit appearances don't count against a hitter), old seasons purge, and streaks reset with the new year.
