- Each guess must be a valid five-letter word.
- The color of the tiles will change to show how close your guess was to the word.
- A new puzzle is released every day at midnight.
Examples
W is in the word and in the correct spot.
I is in the word but in the wrong spot.
U is not in the word in any spot.
Hard mode
Toggle hard mode with the Hard button in the header. When hard mode is on, every revealed hint must be used in your subsequent guesses:
- Green letters must stay in the same position.
- Yellow letters must be reused somewhere in your next guess.
- You can only toggle hard mode before your first guess of the day. Once you've started, you're locked in until tomorrow's puzzle.
- Hard mode plays are tracked in a separate stats column and have their own leaderboard tab. A 50-day hard streak means something.
