We all have at least one gaming opinion that makes other players look at us like we’ve spoken ancient forbidden words. I don’t mean outright trolling - just those honest thoughts that tend to divide a room. So what’s your slightly spicy gaming opinion? Whether it’s mechanics, franchises, remakes, difficulty settings, or something as simple as controller vs. keyboard, I’m curious to hear the ones you usually keep to yourself.

I think most open-world games are far bigger than they need to be. Gorgeous, yes, but there’s no reason for me to spend twenty minutes riding across empty fields just to get to the next quest marker. A tight, well-paced world beats a bloated one any day.

The open-world comment is already a bold start. I love a big map, but sometimes it does feel like the game is stretching its content thin. And I totally agree on turn-based: it’s underrated for how deliberate and thoughtful it can make battles feel.

I think battle royale games were fun but overstayed their welcome. The constant loot-grind meta and repetitive loop wore thin fast. I miss when multiplayer meant quirky modes, creative maps, and couch co-op that didn’t require a second subscription.

I don’t think every beloved old franchise needs a reboot. Sometimes letting a series rest is the kinder option. Reviving it often leads to something that pleases no one.

I actually prefer turn-based combat over real-time action. People act like it’s outdated, but there’s something deeply satisfying about strategic thinking rather than frantic button-mashing. I wish more modern RPGs embraced it instead of running from it.

I don’t think The Last of Us Part I deserved all the perfect scores it got. Not saying it’s bad - it’s incredibly crafted - but parts of the story felt emotionally manipulative rather than organic. It’s a brilliant game, but not flawless.

I think the first Last of Us is overrated. It’s good, absolutely, but the pedestal people put it on sometimes overshadows other narrative games that do things just as well, if not better.

Fair point. I actually just finished a 7th playthrough of LoU parts 1 & 2 the other day. Part 1 is probably the better of the two—narratively speaking, while part 2 has better graphics and UI but has an overall cartoonish narrative with characters equally so. Thus for me, part 1 is definitely the superior of the two. However in all regards neither of them hold a candle to Days Gone. Just my opinion though.

I don’t think every game needs a “hard mode.” Some experiences genuinely work best when they’re accessible and relaxed. The pressure to crank everything to “souls-like” difficulty has made some developers forget that fun doesn’t always equal punishment.
