NCAA Brackets

NCAA Brackets
Bring the excitement of bracket season to your forum. Members fill out their own bracket — every matchup from the opening round all the way to the champion — and their picks lock in once the games tip off.

From there it runs itself. Every bracket is scored automatically as real results come in, with a live leaderboard that updates round by round so everyone can see who's on top and whose bracket just busted. No spreadsheets, no manual scoring.

A new product by MojoRisin is available: NCAA Brackets v1.0.0 - A self-scoring March Madness bracket challenge for your community — members fill out their bracket, picks lock at tip-off, and it grades itself as the real games play out.

NCAA Brackets v1.0.0

Description

Try the live demo

The demo bracket is open through the day — fill one out, pick every matchup up to a champion, and submit it. Each evening (8pm board time) the demo grades every bracket against a real, completed tournament, so you can see exactly how the scoring, the live leaderboard, and the champion crowning all look.

Two things the demo can't show:

- Round-by-round grading. Because the demo runs on a tournament that's already finished, it scores everything in one pass. During a real tournament it works differently — brackets grade live, round by round, as each game actually ends. Scores climb after every round, correct and busted picks get marked as they happen, and a "current round" banner tracks the action from the First Round all the way to the National Championship. That unfolding, week-long experience is the heart of the add-on, and it's the one part a demo can't replay.

- It resets daily. Every morning the demo clears all entries and reopens for fresh picks, so it's always ready for the next visitor. Your demo bracket won't be saved.

A bracket challenge your community will actually come back for

When the big tournament rolls around, give your members a bracket to fill out — every matchup from the opening round to the champion. Once the games tip off, their picks lock in and the competition is on.

It scores itself. As real results come in, every bracket is graded automatically, round by round. A live leaderboard shows who's climbing, who's leading, and whose bracket just busted — no spreadsheets, no manual scoring, nothing for you to babysit.

Raise the stakes, or don't. Turn on an optional entry fee, let the pot build, and pay it out to your champion when the dust settles — or keep it free and play for pure bragging rights.

Set it and forget it. The whole thing runs on its own: the field appears when the tournament is set, scoring keeps pace with the real games, and the winner is paid automatically at the end. All the engagement, none of the upkeep.

This one has some phrase issues going on in the ACP:

Is there a way to make it so that these add-ons allow you to have an entry fee of less than 1? My forum uses the decimal system, and users earn $0.01 per post, for example. It would be ideal if I could charge $0.10 as an entry fee on these, but it won't let me do less than 1 atm

Are you using dbtech?

Well its not a matter of can it be done. It then becomes an issue of changing the credits adapter thats packed into every addon.

So unfortunately I am going to say no on this. Not that it cant be done but the downstream results from it.

Would it make a difference if I switched to your Bankroll add-on? I'd love to ditch Dragonbyte, but I'm dependent on their Shop add-on, which is what I edited a bit so that members can select their favorite teams in their profiles. Don't know if you noticed that feature:

Spent a lot of time editing phrases, uploading team logos, etc. Maybe that could be done through the Box Score add-on too?

You run on deck. You probably could just put the teams they follow in their profile.

I thought maybe that was the issue, but then I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and got the same thing. Let me try again.
